Wedding expos are popular across the country. Preparing for a wedding day is a happy and joyful time, and these expos guide individuals to the wedding day of their dreams. While a much less blissful experience, divorce expos can help show people there is life after divorce.
Recently, residents on the East Coast had the opportunity to attend such a divorce expo, which included over 100 vendors offering tips and advice as to what an individual can expect while going through a divorce. Offering guidance on how to brave their new single life, family law practitioners, hairstylists, life coaches and financial planners alike participated in the expo.
The divorce expo phenomenon is a recent trend conjured by the efforts of a mother and daughter pair. Inspired by a similar expo in Paris, they decided to take the chance and bring the idea elsewhere. The two also have first-hand knowledge of what it is like going through a divorce. Both the mother and her daughter have gone through a divorce.
Attendees attested to the value of the expo. Some said it allowed them to move forward with their divorce by encouraging them to seek legal counsel to help deal with their current situation. They also expressed that the expo helped them to embrace the difficult transition from married to single life and put a positive spin on what nearly half of married Americans may one day experience.
While divorce does result in the end of a marriage, it also signals new beginnings for divorced individuals and their children. Individuals working their way through divorce or other family law issues may wish to contact an experienced family law attorney. An attorney will use their knowledge to ensure an individual's rights are protected as they start this new phase in their life.
